Avaya GlobalConnect, has collaborated with Motorola to offer the Motorola Enterprise Wireless LAN and handheld Mobility solution. The solution, ideal for retail, healthcare, manufacturing and other environments, enables mobile professionals to easily access essential enterprise applications and communications capabilities while on the move. Professionals get consistent connectivity thereby reducing the risk of lost business or productivity by ensuring the highest level of communications availability.

The collaboration follows a long relationship between the two companies in which Symbol Technologies, acquired by Motorola in January 2007, provided mobile devices, Wireless LAN Infrastructure and RFID to Avaya. The former Symbol Technologies business has become the core of Motorola's Enterprise Mobility business, uniquely positioning the company to take enterprise mobility to a new level.

The joint solution is designed to improve organizational productivity by giving workers a wireless mobile computer that delivers advanced levels of voice quality, and can perform many activities that would otherwise require the use of several devices. Additionally, all of the phone functionality featured on a desktop office phone, such as transfer, conference and business extension dialing, is available from this wireless device.

“As companies look for strategies to address the growing need for a workforce that is mobile, yet connected to the information employees need, expertise from both Avaya and Motorola can provide new enterprise mobility solutions that will lead the marketplace by providing cutting-edge, end-to-end products and services,” remarked Mr. Amit Mehta, Director-Marketing, Avaya GlobalConnect.

“To realize true Enterprise Mobility, you need a Motorola Enterprise Wireless LAN built from the ground up to support mission critical applications. Avaya GlobalConnect takes this technology and delivers a total solution to customers. This partnership is uniquely positioned to deliver on the promise of Enterprise Mobility”, said Mr. John Fogarasi, Regional Sales Manager, Motorola Enterprise Mobility business.
