ValueFirst intros SMS helpline for women employees  
Any employee can send in the SMS to the number 6070, which would then be automatically forwarded to the police department

NEW DELHI: ValueFirst, the Mobile Virtual Network Operator for data services has announced the launch of a unique SMS helpline 6070 for the security of all workingwomen today. 

Chairperson of the National Commission for Women Dr Girija Vyas, unveiled the SMS helpline (6070 help) at a conference on “BPO best practices in Employee Security” in Gurgaon. 

The helpline is being offered by ValueFirst as a public service for the security of women employees. In case of emergency, using this helpline, any employee can send in the SMS to the number 6070 (SMS help GNG ), which would then be automatically forwarded to the police department of Gurgaon. 

The service would be available nationwide on all operators and the user will have to just type the three letter abbreviation of the city, a valueFirst statement said. 

"Employee security has become a serious concern for some professionals especially women. After a few incidents that took place recently, this has become matter of utmost importance to sectors like BPOs, where maximum employees are women and they work during the evening and night shifts. This SMS facility will act as a mobile security, which definitely help these employees if they are in any trouble " said Vijay Shukla, country head, ValueFirst. 

The conference brought to light new technologies being used to ensure women employee security. A presentation on vehicle tracking system was given by the MD of Micro Technologies and Vijay Shukla, country head, ValueFirst presented on the use of mobile messaging services (SMS) used for ensuring employee security. 

"ValueFirst also plans to launch a paid service for the employee security soon, which will be much more feature rich than the current one, " added Shukla.
