TK Kurien has been appointed CEO in place of Raman Roy.

BANGALORE: Wipro has appointed T K Kurien as the chief executive of its BPO business.

The appointment has been made consequent to Raman Roy's decision to resign from Wipro after a successful stint of over three years, to pursue interests outside Wipro.

The 48-year old Roy had founded Spectramind eServices that was later acquired by Wipro in July 2002.

Announcing these changes, Vivek Paul, vice chairman, Wipro said, "We are pleased to have Kurien lead our BPO initiative at a time when it is at an inflexion point."

Prior to this assignment, Kurien was part of the Wipro BPO business driving the transaction processing business initiative. Kurien also had a successful stint as the CFO of Wipro GE Medical Systems Ltd. and as CEO of GE X Ray from October 1997 to January 2000.
