Claims compliance with the latest IEEE 802.3an task-force guidelines

Systimax Solutions, the global provider of structured connectivity solutions and services for businesses, today launched its unshielded twisted pair (UTP) 10 Gigabit Ethernet cabling solution in Bangalore.

The company said the solution fully complied with the latest IEEE 802.3an task force guidelines for 10GBASE-T. The solution has been named GigaSPEED X10D.

With this, Systimax becomes only the second structured cabling major in India to launch 10G cabling over UTP copper. Krone was the first to come out with a similar solution a couple of months ago.

10G-over-copper promises to support the more demanding applications like high-resolution video, grid computing and storage area networks (SANs), while significantly reducing the cost for enterprises.

Managing the interaction between cables, patch cords and connectors is a major challenge in achieving the performance required to support 10 Gbps speeds. Systimax Labs utilized its unique Modal Decomposition Modeling (MDM) tool to evaluate the 1,024 interactions between adjacent, as well as within individual, cabling components to achieve substantial reduction in alien crosstalk (noise from adjacent cables and connectors). In addition, the performance of the GigaSPEED X10D Solution has been tested and qualified in what is viewed as worst-case installation channel test configurations, known as the ‘6-around-1' cable configuration.

Prasanna Kumar, sales director, India and Saarc, Systimax Solutions said, “The GigaSPEED X10D solution represents the next generation in structured connectivity technology, helping to increase business productivity and simplify provisioning of networks for future applications. We believe, with the large and increasing bandwidth requirements of India based businesses, India is a ready market for 10G Ethernet over copper technology and therefore ready to take advantage of the GigaSPEED X10D Solution.”
