Cisco Ships 50,000 IP Telephones to India

As on September 2004, Cisco Systems had had shipped 50,000 IP (Internet Protocol) telephones in India. Cisco had introduced its range of IP phones in India in 2001.

Commenting on Cisco's success in the IP-Telephony space in India, Cisco Systems (India & SAARC) senior VP - IT services B Ashok said, "Cisco bet early on IP being the future of voice communications."
