Intelsat will be bought over by a consortium of private investors for a price of about $5 billion. The deal is expected to close by the end of this year pending regulatory clearances. The consortium includes Apax Partners, Apollo Management, Madison Dearborn Partners and Permira and it is a part of Zeus Holdings. The shareholders will receive $18.75 for each Intelsat share. VSNL currently holds a five percent share in Intelsat.
