The
company registered an impressive increase of about 140 percent in turnover
during the period under review. From a modest Rs 10 crore in the 1998-99 fiscal,
it jumped to Rs 24 crore during the last fiscal according to Voice & Data
estimates. This was on account of its predominant position in pagers market
(hardware part) where it pocketed more than 70 percent share. With most of
multinational pager manufacturing companies on the verge of closing their shops
in India, the strategy of the company was one of wait and watch. And that has
paid off. It imports the hardware from Hong Kong-based Group Sense Ltd and then
resells it after some modification and frequency adjustments. It is also into
Indian language pagers in a big way.

The company has joint ventures with several multinational
companies in the field of telecommunications. The companies include LG
Information & Communication Ltd (LGIC), Naray Mobile Telecom, Nepostel/PTT
Netherlands, Esquire Electronics Inc., and Group Sense Ltd.
It also has a paging services arm, Nice Paging, as a JV with
LGIC, Naray, Esquire, and PTT. It currently has 10,000 subscribers and operates
in Jammu & Kashmir and Assam.
The company has different divisions for manufacturing
solutions, marketing solutions, turnkey contracts, and consultancy. It has also
made foray into software development.
The company recently launched a B2C site on Gifts called www.giftstoindia.com.
