Satyam Computer Services, primarily in the area of software solutions and services, registered a turnover of Rs 113.1 crore in FY 2001. The company in the area of telecom and digital communications is estimated to account for 9.11 percent share of the total revenue.

This vertical business unit is today focused in NMS, OSS, Telecom Systems Integration (TSI), soft switches, telephony services, ISP/ASP monitoring and maintenance services, products and enterprise integration, custom applications for mobile computing platforms and 3G application development. And in order to enhance its focus on this segment, Satyam has successfully partnered with telecom service providers, system integrators and telecom product/platform vendors, to develop solutions for the global telecom industry like LHS, DanNet, Oracle and Cibernet.

The success of the company is due to its decentralized organizational focus. It reorganized itself into several virtually independent business units, each with its own P&L responsibility, besides delivery and business development resources. This has focused company-wide leadership on building relevant competencies and on customer acquisition and support.
