He co-founded a company Starent which created the ST16 Intelligent Mobile
Gateway—the first solution to seamlessly deliver enhanced data, voice and
multimedia services to wireless subscribers. Dahod founded NetCore Systems, Inc
which as acquired by Tellabs for $575 million. Tellabs recognized that NetCore’s
product Everest Integrated Switch combined IP routing and ATM switching
into a single multilayer device would help carriers provide Internet, VPN and
other business-class services on a single platform.
Another company founded by Dahod, Sigma Networks was acquired by Cabletron
(Now Enterasys) in 1997 for $75 million. Applitek Corporation, another company
founded by Dahod, was acquired by Bay Networks for US $59 million. n Page(s) 1
