Sanjiv Ahuja is founder and CEO of Comstellar Technologies, a company that develops new technology to enhance the communications industry. Before starting Comstellar Technologies, he served as president and chief operating officer at Telcordia Technologies (formerly Bellcore or Bell Communications Research). Telcordia provides consulting services and essential communications software used by 80 percent of the US telecom network, with a world-class research operation responsible for hundreds of patents, including key broadband data communications technologies like ADSL, AIN, ATM, ISDN, Frame Relay, SMDS, SONET, and video-on-demand. Under his leadership, Telcordia launched several major, new software product families. Ahuja played a major role in driving the company’s culture to become market- and customer-oriented, as Telcordia competed to serve a broader market of telecom carriers and service providers.

Ahuja began his career at IBM as a software engineer in 1979, after graduating with a BS degree in electrical engineering from the University of Delhi, and doing MS in computer science from Columbia University. He directed IBM’s entry into the distributed systems management and telecommunications management marketplaces. His name is associated with a number of companies for his services as a member of board of directors in Telcordia, SAIC, Computervision, Danet, Tecsi, Tellium, Avici Systems, and Network Appliance. He is also a founding member of the Editorial Advisory Board of America’s Network magazine. n
