What is Sparsh known for?
Sparsh has its major ventures in the security products. The company started
in 1999, and from then there has been no looking back. We are the leading
manufacturers for CCTV's. We won the coveted Emerging Security System
Integrator, 2006, for the CCTV cameras that were indigenously build by us. In
2008, Sparsh became the first Indian firm to manufacture CCD board cameras in
India.
Which is the latest product of Sparsh?
In August 2009, we have come up with a breakthrough product named as Omnisurv.
It is a window based series of DVR cards for building multichannel
video-surveillance on your mobile sets. This solution provides surveillance at
anytime, anyplace and is extremely customer-friendly as well. One can view
continuous, live, real-time video on GPRS enabled handsets, as well as remote
PC/laptops through TCP/IP protocol at high speed and clarity. This surveillance
requires no 3G connection and can work on even low bandwidth.
How does Omnisurv work?
Omnisurv is DVR based video surveillance system, combined with live
real-time view on mobile. This product is easy to use on sensor technology. It
is through the IP technologies that one can easily monitor the place of one's
choice–whether it is office, home or any other place. We are trying to overcome
its limitations like its dependency on high-end handsets or broadband.

What is the advantage of video surveillance?
Video surveillance is one of the biggest advantages one can think of in security
system. One can easily review and determine the events. It adds precision to the
security. Our products like CCTVs, and video door phones are primarily focused
on to have a visual advantage. We are also trying to add voice to the real-time
view.
What about the costs?
Omnisurve costs around Rs 30,000 and some additional costs for the cameras that
are installed. Our focus will be to provide our products with higher efficiency
and lower costs. The company has taken a step ahead in this mission and has tied
up with SONY electronics in the manufacture of the Omnisurv. The response of
this product has been immense from the home segment.
How do you see India as a market for security solutions?
India, as a market, has undoubtedly to grow in a huge way for security
solutions. Lack of awareness about security solutions is also a major drawback.
We see India as a price-sensitive market. But I think that launching these
products on a personal device, such as mobile phones, will help in catching up
with the market trends.
