What do you think are the major market trends in the Indian communications
space?
Whether you talk about unified communication, social networking, telecom,
data networking, or podcasts and other things, India is becoming more and more
tech savvy. A larger number of consumers and corporates are imbibing the latest
technologies. So it is needless to say that a healthy growth market exists in
India. It's the right time for anyone to increase his or her business in the
telecom and IT sectors. Since, there are still a lot of domains that remain
unexplored, and funding is easily available for those who wish to make it big.
What are your expectations with your recent tie-up with Aruba Netwroks?
I would say, this is a step to emerge as one of the key players in system
integration in India. With this step, we have strengthened our services
portfolio with end-to-end implementation services for wireless LANs and secure
unified mobility solutions from Aruba Networks. We are expecting to bring
greater value for our customers and quality system integration services with
this tie-up. It would also enable Indian companies to take Targus services for
the implementation of Aruba solutions for technological advancement and
enterprise mobility solutions that enable secure access to data, voice, and
video application across wireless and wireline enterprise network

How fruitful was the last financial year for Targus? What is your vision
for the current fiscal?
Last year was quite fruitful for us as we grew our revenue to Rs 120 crore;
thereby achieving a growth of 36%. The telecom and the government sectors were
the main contributors to our revenue. Furthermore, we also opened a new branch
office in Mumbai, tied-up with Aruba Networks and Juniper, became premier
partner of Cisco, and started a new technology solutions group.
We also bagged major orders from Whirlpool, Spice, Bharti, Vodafone, CNBC,
WSP, etc. We are looking forward at expanding our solutions portfolio in order
to achieve Rs 200 crore revenue this year.
What are the key differentiators for your business?
We are the only company that focuses equally on system integration (SI) and
network integration (NI). These two arenas require a different set of mind,
separate skill sets, and completely different competition. The competition that
we face in the system integration domain is from a particular set of companies;
and similarly different sets of companies compete with us in network
integration. From a client's perspective, if he goes with Targus he can get the
best SI and NI across the country. And once we expand our reach to various parts
of India, we will be in a better position to claim this recognition.
