What projects has Nimbuzz recently launched in India?
We have launched multiple widgets, which may be posted and accessed on
social networking profile pages, in email signatures, and from personal websites
or blogs. The first such widget is Communicator, which lets friends from
Facebook, MySpace, Bebo, and 20 other social networking sites reach the customer
for free. We have also launched Nimbuzz for the mobile, which is a free
all-in-one solution for Internet-enabled mobile phones.
How much of the operator's net revenue is coming from data services and
how can it be increased?
As of now, around 5% of operator's net revenue is coming from data services
but this can easily be increased to 20%. This can be achieved by selling data
plans. Also, Portio Research has proved that the future lies on mobile Internet,
and the spread of mobile data plans. After texts, it appears that data plans are
a strategic focal point. Flat-rate data plans are increasingly seen as key to
future growth and profitability.

How do you plan to evolve in this space in the coming two-to-three years?
Also, what are the technologies that Nimbuzz is currently conducting research
on?
Nimbuzz is developing its platform to continue the aggregation of additional
communties into one integrated contact list. We will be adding location-based
services and include social media aggregation features and mobile publishing
tools, as well as focus on present information. More bandwith across networks
and more bandwith in more countries will be available as providers are upgrading
their networks worldwide. More subscribers will use mobile Internet and
peer-to-peer pressure will accelerate adoption.
What are your future plans? Are there any new products in the offing?
Nimbuzz will introduce a Windows mobile version with free VoIP and a chat room
application, which is specifically for Indian market and is incredibly
attractive. It is small in size and allows more users to enjoy Nimbuzz and meet
one another, no matter which mobile phone they carry. An iPhone client is also
in development, and our team is working on a solution for the Android platform,
as it is the goal of Nimbuzz to embrace open standards and eliminate walled
gardens. Our vision is to promise that the customer is connected from anywhere,
to anyone, from any device-for free.
