RAJENDRA SINGH DESIGNATED TRAI SECRETARY
Rajendra Singh has been appointed the new secretary of TRAI. Prior to this,
he was in the signaling and telecommunication service of the Railways and was on
deputation as advisor mobile networks in TRAI. Singh has succeded Dr
Harshavardhan Singh after he took up an assignment with the World Trade
Organization.
SP JERATH APPOINTED PRESIDENT OF KT CORP
KT Corporation has appointed SP Jerath as head of Business Developments and
Operations and as president for India and SAARC. He will be responsible for
development of business for the company in the areas of mobile services and
broadband Internet. Jerath has diversified experience of over 35 years in
electronics, telecommunications, IT, networking and broadband related projects
in several companies.
KYOCERA APPOINTS NEW SALES HEAD
Kyocera Wireless, a manufacturer of CDMA wireless phones has appointed
Vishal Goyal as sales head, Open Market Operations, for the firm's India
subsidiary, Kyocera Wireless India (KWI). He
is responsible for managing all sales and operator relationships affiliated with
the open market channel.

MSN APPOINTS NEW COUNTRY MANAGER
MSN, the online services division of Microsoft, has appointed Jaspreet
Bindra to the newly created position of country manager for MSN India. Bindra,
based out of Mumbai, will work closely with Ravi Venkatesan, chairman, Microsoft
India and will report to the MSN director for Asia Pacific, Alex Stewart. Bindra
joins MSN following a long stint with the Tata Group. He was part of the Tata
Administrative Services, and he held senior sales, marketing and general
business management positions before.
NOKIA APPOINTS EXECUTIVE VP
Niklas Savander has been appointed executive vice-president, Technology
Platforms and a member of the Nokia Group Executive Board as of April 1, 2006.
Savander is currently in charge of the mobile devices business unit in Nokia
Enterprise Solutions. Prior to this role, Savander held various senior
strategies, sales, marketing and general management positions covering both the
device and the networks businesses. Savander joined Nokia in 1997. Technology
Platforms is at the core of ensuring Nokia's continued product and technology
leadership. Building on the good work to date will enable us to extend our
leading position in the mobile industry. “We have a strong team in place and I
