Airtel slashes roaming rates

Bharti Airtel has launched a new mobile phone tariff plans with 60% lower roaming rates. The new plan will bring down the roaming rates to 60 paise per minute for calls within its network and 80 paise per minute for calls to other networks. “ Our primary aim is to bring the advantage of our network to our customers. Recent research has shown that customers need benefits while traveling and are not satisfied with just local calling benefits and our networks is uniquely positioned to offer similar benefits on roaming all across the country,” said Atul Bindal, President- Mobile services, Bharti Airtel. As per this new plan, all incoming calls while on roaming will be charged at 60 paise per minute. Outgoing local and STD calls within the Airtel network will also be charged at the same rate. But outgoing calls to other networks will be charged 80 paise per minute. Airtel's prepaid customers must also pay an enrollment of Rs 98 to avail the lower roaming tariffs.
