Bharti Airtel inaugurates Center for Shared Services for taxation

Bharti Airtel inaugurated its center for shared service its center for shared services for taxation. V Sridhar, Chairman CBEC, inaugurated the Centre in the presence of senior officials from the Company and the Service Tax department. Manoj Kohli, CEO & Joint Managing Director, Bharti Airtel said, " The Shared Services initiative is part of an overall transformation programme undertaken by us to improve the efficiency, speed and quality of service. The Shared Services will deliver all taxation compliances, and also prepare the Company for the new GST regime which is expected in 2010. We are proud of our tax compliance record, with our large scale and wide spread operations. With this launch, we will be able to scale up our operations to more than 200 million customers whilst sustaining our compliance track record. We are thankful to the Chairman, CBEC, and the Commissioner, Service Tax for their whole hearted support to our Shared Services".
