Nokia Siemens Networks has launched its high-performance site solution aimed at allowing operators to modernize and expand their mobile networks. The solution brings significant savings by increasing base station capacity by 80 percent and coverage area by up to 40 percent. “ The compact Nokia Siemens Networks high-performance site solution brings much needed extra capacity in the mobile broadband market without the need for additional antennas or physical space. This solution can be easily installed in any location at lower implementation costs and enables operators to cost effectively expand in markets where traditional sites are not feasible,” said Tommi Uitto, Head- Wireless Access products Management, Nokia Siemens Networks. At the core of this site solution is the capability to cost-efficiently enable a 6-sector site instead of the traditional 3- sector site used in most network roll-outs , which boosts capacity to handle data and voice calls by upto 80% per base station.
