Cisco Acquires Starent Networks

Cisco has acquired Starent Networks for $2.9 bn. Cisco will pay $35 per share in cash for the acquisition, which is subject to approval and is expected to close during the first half of the next year. Starent's gear allows Cisco to deliver IP services such as VoIP, video, and Internet access between wireless and IP networks
