The government has approved Telenor's proposal to raise its stake in Unitech
Wireless. The Cabinet Committee of Economic Affairs (CCEA) gave its approval to
Unitech Wireless for enhancing foreign shareholding by Telenor up to 74%.
Telenor, in August this year, obtained the approval of the Foreign Investment
Promotion Board (FIPB) to enhance its stake to 74%. All foreign investments over
$600 mn are approved by CCEA.
