Goyal Appointed Bharti Teletech CEO


Bharti Teletech has appointed Sunil K Goyal as chief executive officer (CEO). He will report to Rakesh Bharti Mittal, vice chairman, Bharti Enterprises. Goyal takes over from Pawan Kapur. He brings with him over seventeen years of rich experience in planning and implementation of business, financial, and corporate strategies. He joined Bharti in 2001 and has served in many senior positions including senior vice president, Strategic Planning Group, Bharti Airtel.

Jagdish Kini Joins Obopay


Obopay Mobile Technology India has appointed Jagdish Kini as its executive advisor. Kini has been responsible for positioning Brand Airtel as a superior mobile service provider in Karnataka and in the southern region by establishing high service levels. Under his stewardship, Bharti achieved market leadership status in Karnataka, Maharashtra, Goa, Andhra Pradesh, Chennai, and Tamil Nadu.

ITI Appoints Khurana as HR Director
KK Khurana has assumed charge as director, Human Resources, ITI. Prior to his appointment on the company's board, he held the position of general manager, Bangalore Plant. Khurana began his career in ITI in 1973. He has held senior management positions in his career spanning three-and-a-half decades and has vast experience in manufacturing, marketing, turnkey projects, and HR. Having immense faith in the capabilities of ITI, his thrust areas for turn-around will be leveraging of HR by ushering in strong culture of performance and aligning HR as strategic business partner for growth and revenue generation.

Qualcomm Appoints Peggy as Executive VP


Qualcomm has appointed Peggy Johnson as the company's executive vice president of India and the Americas. A member of Qualcomm's executive committee, Peggy's appointment strengthens regional representation on the company's executive management team and reflects the increasing globalization of the industry, the widespread adoption of 3G, and the growing demand for new applications to support an increasingly wireless lifestyle.

Mohanty is Country Lead for Motorola

Subhendu Mohanty, services director, Networks Business, Motorola India, has assumed the additional role of country lead for Home and Network Mobility. In this capacity, he will be responsible for business development, sales and services, and existing client relationships in the Home and Networks space. Mohanty brings outstanding judgment and experience to the business. He joined Motorola US in 1993 and moved to India in 1997.

Qualcomm India Appoints Sandeep Sibal

Sandeep Sibal has joined Qualcomm India as VP, Technology, for India and South Asia. He will lead all technology initiatives for Qualcomm's chipset and services divisions in the region. He has more than 17 years of telecommunications experience. In this role, he is responsible for driving Qualcomm's wireless technologies and solutions in the region. This includes next-generation wireless devices and services based on Qualcomm's technology roadmaps for both CDMA2000 1X/EV-DO and WCDMA/HSPA.

Bharti Airtel Appoints Menon as Director
In continuation of its focus to grow and develop internal leadership talent, Bharti Airtel has announced the appointment of Dr Jai Menon as director, Customer Service and IT with immediate effect. Earlier, Dr Menon handled the portfolio of IT and Innovation. In his expanded role at Airtel, he will provide a strong emphasis on bringing in the integrated value of innovative methods to provide “leadership through customer service and responsiveness”.

Obopay India Appoints Balakrishnan as CMO


Obopay Mobile Technology India has appointed Vijay Balakrishnan as chief marketing officer. Balakrishnan will be responsible for Obopay's entire marketing and communication efforts. Prior to joining Obopay, he held senior leadership and marketing roles in some of India's leading conglomerates like Tata Tea, Tata Tetley, Tata Coffee, and Bharti Airtel where he was instrumental in launching, establishing, and successfully delivering rapid market shares for their top brands.

Mauj Mobile has appointed Rajnikant Dhorajia as VP, Product Management and Content Operations and Pradeep Kumar as head, PSU Business. With over fourteen years of experience, Dhorajia brings with him proficiency in the areas of product and portfolio management, solution delivery, and strategic planning. At Mauj, he will be responsible for further developing the diverse product portfolio of the company.
