Chauhan to Head Nortel's Multimedia Applications

Nortel has appointed Ravi Chauhan as its global multimedia applications
leader. Moving from the position of Nortel's India sales team's MD, he'll now be
responsible for providing strategic direction for the multimedia applications
business at Nortel. He has held key positions in leading companies such as
Cabletron Systems, Digital Equipment and Wipro Information Technology.
Flytxt
Appoints Chatterjee as Head, Global Sales
Flytxt has appointed Sanjit Chatterjee to head Global Sales. Chatterjee joins as
Flytxt's director for Global Sales with a wide experience of working with
Indiatimes, Net4India, and NIIT. Chatterjee will be responsible for driving the
global sales to Flytxt customers worldwide. In his dual role as country manager,
India, and director, Global Sales, Flytxt, Chatterjee will be handling the
important tasks of setting up the India business of the mobile marketing firm as
well as in making the country a hub for service delivery to Flytxt's customers
worldwide.
Ravi Sharma to Head Datacom Solutions

Datacom Solutions, a Videocon group company, has roped in former Alcatel-Lucent
president, India and South Asia, Ravi Sharma to head its telecom operations.
This is the first instance of the head of a global telecom infrastructure major
moving to a service provider in India. The Videocon group is planning to invest
around Rs 6,000 crore to kick-start telecom services across all the twenty-three
circles in the country.
Besides engaging Ravi Sharma as chief executive officer of Datacom Solutions,
the company has appointed around 200 administrative staff for the rollout.
Alcatel-Lucent had recently rejigged India and South Asian operations by
elevating Sharma as advisor to Frederic Rose, president of Alcatel-Lucent's
Europe, Africa, and Asia business. The company had also appointed Vivek Mohan in
his place.
