Jeff Jacobs in a New Role at Qualcomm

HDS Appoints Prashanth as Regional Director
Hitachi Data Systems has appointed Prashanth GJ as regional director for its South India operations. Prashanth will be responsible for providing regional sales direction and leadership, which are closely aligned with Hitachi Data Systems' corporate and country business objectives. He brings with him fourteen years of extensive experience in enterprise sales management and channel management. He would be responsible for driving growth and expansion of the company's revenue and market share in South India.

Deshpande 's RSM, India and SAARC, Shiron Satellite
Shiron Satellite Communications has appointed Ashish D Deshpande as regional sales manager, India and SAARC. In this role, Deshpande will be responsible for driving Shiron's unique low opex, high availability satellite solutions in India and SAARC region. Shiron has been very active on the e-learning, e-governance, and CDMA/GSM backhauling solutions across the globe and has a recent success story of deployment of rural infrastructure project in Colombia for phase I–4,794 sites and phase II-4,357 sites.

Misra Appointed CFO of WNS
WNS has appointed Alok Misra as group chief financial officer. Misra is an accomplished finance professional with eighteen years of experience. Misra joins WNS after holding the group CFO position at MphasiS, an electronic data systems company, where he has been a key member of the leadership team for the last seven years and helped grow the organization in that period into one of the larger players in the information technology and BPO industry, including the strategic alignment with EDS.

HP Appoints Doraisamy as MD, Asia Pacific Japan
HP has appointed Balu Doraisamy as MD for Asia Pacific Japan and senior vice president for the Technology Solutions Group. Doraisamy has more than twenty-three years of experience with HP, most recently as MD of HP India. In that role, Doraisamy and his team drove key programs in India that accelerated growth and delivered outstanding performance for the company.

In his APJ MD role, he will be responsible for continuing the focus on creating value for customers and profitable growth together with the region leadership team.

Qualcomm Appoints Meijers as GM
Qualcomm has appointed international broadcast media veteran Neville Meijers as the new senior vice president and general manager for MediaFLO Technologies. In this role, Meijers will lead all functional groups, including business development, engineering, marketing, partner relations, product management and program management, for Qualcomm's expanding mobile broadcast business unit. Meijers will oversee the global organization. Meijers joins Qualcomm from Discovery Communications, where he recently served as executive vice president of Discovery Communications' Antenna Audio.
