They say, all it takes is the will to make a way for a more better world. Broadcast Media and football players have joined hands to eradicate illiteracy through their 1GOAL initiative. The joint initiative which aims to educate 75 million children with an aim to beat poverty.

The Association for International Broadcasting (AIB), the global knowledge network for the international broadcasting industry, said that it is now being joined by active supporters and partners-which include Queen Rania, Rio Ferdinand and Hillary Clinton.

AIB is the international industry association and global knowledge network for the international broadcasting industry – cross-media, cross-border, cross-cultural. With a reach of over 25,000 communicators and media professionals, AIB is a unique center of information about international broadcasting, covering TV, radio, on line and mobile. AIB researches regular market intelligence briefings for its members and provides client-specific consultancy and project support. Members receive an extensive package of services throughout the year.

The 2020 FIFA World cup that will take place in South Africa is aiming at combining media and sports to bring a radical transformation in the lives of the deprived one's.

In 2000, in an unprecedented effort, the political leaders of all the world's countries and the heads of leading development institutions came together to adopt the eight United Nations Millennium Development Goals and committed to meet the needs of the poorest and provide all children with an education by 2015.

In India, the sad state of education is not hidden by all. It has become a grim reality. The Program me also aims in developing and building quality infrastructure in the country. With the pledge of FIFA which aims at education for all children on earth, it has rightly partnered with the broadcast media.

To fulfill its commitment towards providing free and compulsory education to all children up to the age fourteen, the government is using all form of ICTs to deliver its best. Computer science, mobiles, video conferencing-all the tools are being used to enhance the quality of education in the country.

The media-FIFA sport partnership can perhaps serve as an example to tread the right path of technology and governance to stamp out illiteracy in the country.
