9. Hughes Network

FACTSHEET

Hughes Network Systems (HNS), has maintained its leadership position in India for the fifth consecutive year and has done a business of Rs 82.54 crore through Hughes Escorts Communications Ltd., its only service provider in India.

The company is planning to launch DirectPC application this year, which will deliver information to remote locations. It also enables companies to transmit data, video and audio to multiple locations simultaneously. DirectPC will also be used for broadband Internet delivery.

Some of the major orders picked up by HNS are IDBRT, RBI Infinet and Aditya Birla Information Highway where the company sold 210 VSATs. On the hub front, HECL is commissioning a Ku-band hub to encash on the opportunities with the opening up of Ku-band. On the captive front, the company has sold 11-meter hub for Bombay Stock Exchange.
