NIIT Planetworkz, NIIT’s call center training arm, has launched what it
calls Time Machine, an e-Recruitment Kiosk, to take recruitment to places where
traditional recruitment process would be unviable to take. This e-kiosk uses the
power of PC and the Internet to test a candidate’s written English skills,
analyze the voice quality, and evaluate his/her learning styles at remote NIIT
education centers.
The
e-kiosk, after testing the candidates, evaluates his/her skills and determines
the extent of training required for the person to work in a call center. This
data is fed into a database that is accessible by NIIT clients—the call center
companies—for them to be able to choose and decide on specific candidates,
thus saving time, cost, and effort in the recruitment process.
The NIIT initiative is aimed at tapping the available manpower in smaller
cities and towns and recruit them for working in call centers in major cities.
This will also help career seekers in identifying the critical skills required
and take up appropriate training before embarking on a career in the call center
industry.
