TCS was planning its biggest single facility for software development. This global scale facility in Siruseri (near Chennai) is reportedly one of the largest and most modern of its kind and is expected to house 25,000 IT professionals when completed.

This TCS project entailed end-to-end network infrastructure solutions and ADC Krone was chosen on merit as they had the expertise to provide network design, product supply, implementation, and project management.

The project requirements were unique in many ways. Being a 25,000-seater facility, it was a Herculean task for the IT manager to manage a large number of computer/access points. TCS was looking for manageability, especially remote manageability, for its huge network. It was crucial for TCS to deploy network in such a way that there was no point of failure. The challenges were installation and reducing the cost of network ownership; this being a permanent facility, future proofing was also critical.

The Choice
ADC Krone's TrueNet portfolio was the choice that included Cat 6 copper and fiber connectivity, 10G over Ethernet, and TrueNet PLM that combines leading connectivity technology with intelligent physical layer management, providing complete end-to-end, real-time control and management of enterprise copper and fiber networks.

The TrueNet PLM solution met the requirement of entire data connectivity that ensures remote management of all nodes. Installing PLM would solve issues like unplanned downtime, inefficient manual moves, adds and changes, redundant ports, and inaccurate records.

A team of sixty installers, supervisors, and project managers ensured that every aspect of installation was taken care of, be it the adherence to standards, superior network performance, or manageability of the network in long-term.

The active hardware of PLM is configured in a hierarchical layout, providing the management of the software all relevant data to scan connectivity changes within the physical layer. The product selection was kept in line with future proofing and budgets expectations of TCS.

ADC Krone has been building design competencies and technical expertise in this area and also establishing strong partnership alliances to address such comprehensive customer requirements in the enterprise market place.

The deployment of the project is done by AVS Network, which has been associated with ADC Krone for the last four years and has implemented many installations having expertise in resource management, project management, and installations.
