As a solution, Delta now offers Enhanced power system control aka Site Monitoring controlling system (SMCS). The SMCS is designed to be a compact integrated power feeding solution to the telecom base stations with innovative features such as a voltage stabilizer to achieve the best possible power system efficiency over a wide AC voltage range.
Also included are an automatic transfer switch between AC utility and genset as well as a healthy phase selector which ensures full power capability in case of phase interruptions in the AC utility network. Moreover the unit has DG health check-up logic and a built-in AC distribution panel as well as an alarm panel for easy installation – all integrated into one compact system.
The SMCS also sports a user friendly LCD interface alongside unique protection features and genset fuel saving functionality by sensing battery voltage and shelter temperature. In addition to fuel savings, reduced operating hours of genset lead to longer intervals between maintenance. In short, all this means also longer overall lifetime of the genset.
When AC mains power fails, gensets are needed to keep the system operating. Traditionally, all AC devices are connected directly to the AC utility. This means a huge amount of power is needed to start up an entire power range – in fact, the genset needs to be 2–3 times oversized to be able to push through the initial stages. Also our power system intelligent controllers' concept enables a scheduled start-up process of rectifier depending upon the source of input. This means the genset can be reduced to half its size, which in turn means that the genset operates at a far better fuel-to-electricity conversion rate.
The procedure is safe and foolproof and “The key factor is optimising the genset size and operating point, which can save up to 30% of fuel during genset operation.”
In addition to the scheduled startup process, our power plant controller comes with a comprehensive set of features for monitoring the devices on site. It can check the genset operating status, warning the user when fuel or oil levels drop, or if the temperature rises. A web server is integrated with configuration and monitoring possibilities. Remote monitoring works with modem, LAN or SNMP, and wireless infrastructure is supported as well as fixed-line communication and DSL A number of controller parameters can now also be modified via SNMP, the functionality of through our controller software.
“Alarm messages, the TRAPs, are now more detailed and informative. It's much easier to integrate the power system with the network management system.”
Being a leader in the global SMPS technology solution, Delta Energy systems offer the Industry leading Power density (34.3 w/ inch3) and High efficiency modules (> 93%). Delta has complete product portfolio of rectifiers starting from 5 A to 150 A @ 48V for supporting the small Micro wave repeater operation to MSC power applications.
With real estate prices hitting an all time high and the number of cell sites increasing day by day, the challenge for the service provider is to ensure more watts per cubic cm, resulting in higher power density systems which result in restricting the less space provision for power systems in the cabinet. Delta's solution to answer the above query are 25A @ 48V in 1U Height, 19” width rack complete power system solution and for supporting the Wimax/DSL/IPTV application 150 A @ 48V in 3U Height, 19” width rack complete power solution (Rectifiers + Controller + Remote PFC contacts + DCDB) or output voltage of 24 V & 48 V DC in 19” width & 4 U height (Rectifiers + Controller + Remote PFC contacts).
For the costs to be optimised, modern solutions are needed. Constant development is a part of the Delta strategy. We want to be the fore-runner in introducing solutions that make our customers' life easier.
“Some may consider it a worn-out phrase, but we really intend to provide added value for our customers, now and in the near future”
