Dr Kanwar Jit Singh, co-founder and VLSI development manager, Xebeo
Communications, is a recognized expert in algorithm development for VLSI CAD and
VLSI chip design. Prior to joining Xebeo, Dr Singh served as principal
investigator in the DSP and VLSI systems research department at Bell
Laboratories, Lucent Technologies. There he focused on digital design, using his
expertise to provide vision and direction on several commercially successful
VLSI designs. He received the 1998 award for best paper in Journal of Solid
State Circuits. He played a lead role in the creation of the single-chip camera-an
achievement recognized with the 1999 Discover Magazine Award for technological
innovation. Dr Singh is the author of 15 research publications, has two patents
granted and three pending. He received his BTech in electrical engineering from
the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, and PhD in Electrical Engineering
from the University of California.
