Mohan Gyani's mission, in his own words, is "to make sure that the core wireless business stays focused and gets its fair share of growth." Gyani was appointed as the CEO of AT&T wireless in March 2002. He has been the vice chairman of Roamware since January 2006. He is a telecom and wireless industry veteran and former CFO of AirTouch Communications. He was also chief financial officer of Wireless Services Group, and executive vice president and CFO of AirTouch Communications. Gyani played a key role in the $120-bn merger of AirTouch and Vodafone and the subsequent $70 bn joint venture with Bell Atlantic. He also played key roles in the $1.6 bn IPO of AirTouch in 1993. He was instrumental in the hugely successful $10.6 bn IPO of AT&T Wireless in 2000. He is one of the board of directors of Cellular Telecommunications and Internet Association, GSM Association and Keynote Systems.
