Most people establish companies to sell products. Mukesh Chatter sold his company Nexabit before it had sold even a single product to Lucent Technologies which bought it for $900 mn in stock.

Chattar has almost two decades of experience in the architecture, design and development of state-of-the-art networking equipment and supercomputers and has several patents in these areas. After Nexabit Networks was sold, Chattar founded Axiowave, where he is the president and CEO.

A noted systems architect, Chatter invented the innovative scalable switching fabric technology that operates at multi-terabits per second. He subsequently served as VP and GM of IP products at Lucent. Red Herring recognized Nexabit under his leadership as the company to lead the networking technology in the post-PC era. He was also chosen as one of the top ten entrepreneurs in 1999 by Red Herring.
