De-licensed the Wi-Fi frequency in India

PK Garg is an authority on spectrum management and radio regulation. He has been instrumental in formulation and implementation of national policies related to telecom, broadcasting, and satellite communications. He has been a developer and reviewer of National Frequency Allocation Plan for the country. He was also a member of the technical staff for test and operation of India's first commercial satellite earth station in 1971.

PK Garg has also been instrumental in shaping international spectrum and orbit coordination, spectrum licensing and radio monitoring including system design and development of automated spectrum management and monitoring facilities in various capacities as vice chairman, special committee on radio regulatory matters for WRC-07, chairman ad-hoc group on additional HF bands for broadcasting at WRC-97. He has participated in international activities for more than 26 years. Recently, he has been elected as member of the Radio Regulation Board at the recently concluded Plenipotentiary Conference 2006.
