RSP Sinha took over the reins of telecom behemoth MTNL on 10
August 2004. Under his aegis MTNL took various initiatives to establish finer
customer interface such as launch of MTNL info line, MTNL news line, etc. MTNL
also forayed in the fields of m-commerce, IPTV and 3G. He has served as the
director (Finance) MTNL and VSNL.
Sinha also served as the director (Finance) for Hindustan
Organic Chemical Limited (HOCL). At HOCL, in 1994, he handled its first public
issue, which was oversubscribed by 13 times-a first ever for a PSU. As the
director (Finance) VSNL in 1999, Sinha successfully brought out a GDR issue of
$185 mn as a part of government disinvestments including public issue within the
country. During his tenure VSNL got listed in the New York Stock Exchange.
