He played a major role in reviving the role that C-DOT plays in
the Indian telecom scenario. After the successes with the indigenous switching
solutions, under him C-DOT may well play an important role in the evolving
revolution of telecom around mobile telephony.
Alcatel is now running a joint global R&D center for mobile
broadband wireless access system. It has also started real testing of the
products as against simulated testing that was done earlier. C-DOT is now also
collaborating with BSNL in using in-house technologies for the monitoring of its
GSM network, and helping BSNL compete with the best of the international players
that are in the Indian markets today.
