Vishwani D Agrawal was a distinguished member of technical
staff at Agere Systems, Murray Hill, New Jersey, and a visiting professor at
Rutgers University, New Brunswick, New Jersey. Since 1978, he has worked at Bell
Labs (AT&T, Lucent) until 2001 when the microelectronic business unit of
Lucent became a new company named Agere Systems. Agrawal has published over 250
papers and five books. He holds 13 US patents. Currently, he is a James J
Danaher professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Samuel Ginn College
of Engineering Auburn University. International Conference on VLSI Design and
VLSI Society of India gave him the lifetime achievement award in 2006.
From 1985 to 1987 he was the editor-in-chief of the IEEE Design & Test of
Computers magazine. In 1990, he founded the Journal of Electronic Testing:
Theory and Applications, which is the first and currently the only archival
journal in its area.
